Fight Ready offers a full mix of classes for the kids just like for the adults. We have daily kids classes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well as Wrestling and Kick Boxing. What better way to get your children moving than with martial arts! Besides the physical aspect all of our programs promote discipline, self confidence and respect.
Cardio Kickboxing is a cardiovascular workout that is a mixture of martial arts and aerobics. Like all of our classes Cardio Kickboxing is designed to accommodate both men and women of all skill levels and ages. The program focuses on proper technique and footwork while providing a pace that burns over 500 calories an hour. What sets our program apart is our focus on partnering our members to hold pads for each other. This allows both people to get a great workout while learning at a much faster rate than is achieved simply striking the heavy bag.
Fight Ready's Wrestling Program is divided into two groups; the kids program is for ages 5 to 14 years and the adult class is for all members older than 14 years. The program is based in the fundamentals of wrestling, regardless of style. Whether a beginner or advanced wrestler goal is to give all members the techniques and confidence it takes to become great athletes. Join us as we grow Arizona's next State Champions and All-Americans while creating opportunities to compete at the collegiate level. With practice and dedication anything is possible.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art focusing largely on grappling and ground fighting. It utilizes natural body leverage and proper technique to obtain dominant control on the ground and, as a result, provides greater position for striking or submission holds. BJJ has been proven, when used properly, to be an effective method for dealing with bigger and stronger opponents. It can be trained for self defense or sport. Traditional BJJ is performed in a gi and has belts which identify a practitioner's time in the sport as well as skill level.
No-Gi BJJ is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu performed without the traditional "jacket" or "kimono". Without the Gi there are no belts or a formal ranking system. This form has become extremely popular due to its effectiveness in MMA.
Mixed Martial Arts class is a little bit of everything. This program will provide members with a well rounded understanding of both stand-up and ground fighting. Though MMA has become its own discipline it is always beneficial to attend boxing, kick boxing and BJJ classes to promote the most efficient personal progression.
