Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor

Paris teaches our adult and youth BBJ classes here at Fight Ready MMA. Paris started his MMA career at an early age doing wrestling and eventually competing in local NAGA tournaments and eventually turning Pro in MMA by competing in local circuits through AZ. Paris is a IBJJF national champion, a fourth degree brown belt in Jiu Jitsu and is pursuing his black belt under Carlos Farias. Paris has a great attitude and an obvious love for MMA and coaching.

Frankie Saenz

Wrestling/Striking Coach

Frankie Saenz is the head wrestling coach at Fight Ready. Frankie has been with Fight Ready since its inception and was with The Den/Lion’s Den Scottsdale since 2008. He also coached the Maryvale High School wrestling team for five years after his collegiate wrestling career atArizona State University and the University of Northern Colorado.
He lives in Norther Scottsdale with his fiancé, 2 year old nephew and their pit pull “LuLu”.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Frankie was a two-time High School State Wrestling Champion and an All-American in Freestyle, Greco Roman and Folkstyle. He is an MMA Professional fighter with a record of 8-2. Frankie holds the King of the Cage bantamweight championship belt, Coalition of Combat featherweight championship belt and the previously held the World Fighting Federation feather Championship belt.

Angel Cejudo

Head Wrestling Coach

Angel Cejudo is our head wrestling coach at Fight Ready MMA. He continues his work on the mat as the head coach of Olympus Wrestling Club. Angel grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and attended Maryvale High School where his passion for the sport allowed him to go undefeated all four years carrying a 152-0 record, bringing home four state championship titles, and making him one of the most decorated wrestlers from Arizona. After high school he continued his career in wrestling at the Olympic training center.

In 2005 he went on to the FILA Junior Freestyle World Team and in 2008 Angel represented the U.S. winning at the Dave Schultz Memorial International Freestyle Wrestling Tournament. Later that year he entered the U.S. Olympic trials where he trained with his brother Henry Cejudo, who himself went on to win the Olympic Gold Medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

In 2009 Angel joined the Army where he wrestled for the World Class Athlete Program (WCAP) and in 2010 he took bronze at the Military World Championship. Angel has had the opportunity to train with some of the best coaches in the world, such as Terry Brands, Kevin Jackson, and Sergei Beloglazov. Through the many trials and tribulations of Angel’s wrestling career has kept focus on his family and learned from his many tournaments, mentors, and experiences how to develop an outlook that allows him to contribute this knowledge towards the club.

Tracy Cortez

MMA Body Bootcamp Instructor

Tracy Cortez is the 2nd ranked of 13 active Arizona women (pound for pound). She is also ranked 26th out of 141 active US Southwest women (pound for pound). She recently turned Pro and is in pursuit of fulfiling her dreams of competing in the UFC. Tracy conducts all of our MMA Body Bootcamp classes and also does one on one private coaching. If you are looking to improve your focus, discipline, gain self respect or flat out get in the best shape of your life then these classes are for you.

Roman Salazar

Striking/Technical Striking Coach

Roman Salazar is an American professional mixed martial artist.Salazar began competing in amateur fights in 2007 as a lightweight before turning professional in 2009. He competed in several different regional promotions across Arizona.On the heels of his first round submission victory over Jose Carbajal in September 2014, Salazar signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Roman is married with two loving kids and currently lives in Tempe, AZ.

Roman always has a smile on his face and a positive attitude towards all of his students and life itself.

Peter De La Cruz

Strength and Conditioning MMA Coach

Peter De La Cruz graduated from Sahuarita high school with an Associates degree from Pima community college and a Kinesiology degree from Regina university, Canada.

Peter developed a passion for wrestling at an early age to go along with his competitive spirit which earned him a High school state champion in wrestling. He was also an Arizona NCJAA national runner up and awarded a Sportsmanship award at the NCJAA nationals. Peter continued his wrestling career in Canada and placed 3rd in Canada’s nationals wrestling west championship two times in a row.

Now of days Peter continues to compete in local AZ circuits pursuing his Pro card as a mixed martial arts professional. You can find Peter coaching our Youth wrestling program and developing our members strength and conditioning.

Deric Flores

Muay Thai Coach

Deric Flores has had a long-time passion for mixed martial arts since he was a child. He started Tae Kwon Do/ Karate from Elementary to middle school and eventually branched out to other mixed martial arts.

Deric started his professional mixed martial arts career by training in Muay Thai and tested under Best Muay Thai in Tempe, AZ accumulating a 4-1 record. His coaches were Sunshine Fettkether and Bob Karmel. Deric Fought local and in Vegas, NV. Deric was trained by his boxing coach, Ruben Flores in Cedar Park, Texas  at the Pinnacle training center. He accumulated a 3-1 record and making it to the finals in his first couple fights at 2015 Austin golden gloves and took runner up. All of fights his boxing fights were held in Texas. Deric finally put all of his MMA together and started his amateur career with Fight Ready. Accumulated a 2-1 record. Submission of the night Jan 28th 2017.

Some of Deric’s highlights and strengths are:

– He lost his first fight in every sport but always came back with a winning streak.
– He has never been finished in competition

Coaching Accomplishments:

– An Ho Southwest Regional Champion UCFC
– Juan Lara attaining gold in multiple BJJ tournaments and never getting pointed.

Santino DeFranco

Pro Team Head Coach

Santino began his MMA training in 2000, and shortly after competed in his first amateur fight. As a professional, he amassed a record of 13-4 with notable wins over UFC vets Melvin Guillard and Waylon Lowe. Santino competed for many notable promotions including the IFL, K-1, Bodog Fight, as well as many other promotions, including the UFC as a competitor on the 9th season of The Ultimate Fighter reality TV show, where he went 1-1 during his tenure. After an injury cut his career short, Santino began coaching others to fulfill their dreams as amateur and professional fighters, and is now the head MMA coach at Fight Ready MMA and Fitness. Santino is also a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and, prior to joining the Fight Ready team, taught college English at Glendale Community College. Santino is married and is the father of two rambunctious boys.
